Gabby Douglas may be an Olympian, but she’s also a 16-year-old girl who occasionally has a craving for fast food.

“After the competition, I splurged on an Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s,” Douglas excitedly admitted to Jay Leno on Monday night’s “Tonight.” The late night host may have been surprised by Douglas’ answer, but co-guest first lady Michelle Obama didn’t miss a beat.

“Gabby, don’t encourage him,” she said. ” I’m sure it was on a whole wheat McMuffin.” The first lady — and healthy living advocate — then jokingly added, “You’re setting me back, Gabby.”

The teenage Olympian then handed off her new favorite accessories — her two gold medals — to Leno and Mrs. Obama for a closer inspection. “I don’t even deserve to hold this,” Leno said as he returned it.

But when Leno asked the gymnast if the dream of winning a gold medal matched the reality, Douglas called the surreal experience “different.”

“I think it’s very different, and when I mean `different,’ it’s in a better way,” she said. “I mean, I never thought I would be doing the show with the first lady, or even you, Jay.”

Of course, this seemed like the perfect time for the first lady to jump in with a bit of humor. “Even you too, Jay!” she said.
