On Wednesday, it was Carrie Underwood’s turn to take the stage in NBC’s TODAY show summer concert series.

With 15 number one hits, 15 million albums sold and 5 Grammys won, she is arguably the most successful American Idol champ. During her set at Rockefeller Plaza, she belted out “Good Girl,” “Blown Away” — see the lyrics on DirectLyrics — and fan favorite “Before He Cheats” for the crowd.

So is the country songstress tired of hearing about American Idol?

“Not at all,” she tells Matt Lauer.

“I don’t think anybody really could have predicted everything that’s happened since then. There’s nothing about my life that is the same as it was before. What an amazing blessing and opportunity that I got. I’ve gotten to do so much since then. I’m still loving it.”

As for whether or not the singer would contemplate getting behind the judges table in the upcoming season, she says “between my tour schedule and work and everything. I haven’t been asked but I don’t know when that’d even be possible but I’m looking forward to who they do get locked in as a judge.”

Underwood, who co-wrote 8 of the 14 tracks on her most recent album, is about to embark on a North American tour in support of “Blown Away” on September 14 in Manchester, NH. She’ll be donating one dollar from every ticket sold to the American Red Cross and Canadian Red Cross.

How will she balance her shy and homebody life with the craziness of being on tour?

“Making the bus as home-like as possible is really important. Having a lot of my things, just little things — sheets that I’m used to and my dogs are running around. It’s nice to have those little comforts.”
