'PLL' Recap: Truths & Lies
Spencer and Aria play an epic game of 'Truth or Dare'
Thanks to Tuesday’s episode of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, we now know why Jenna (Tammin Sursok), Noel (Brant Daugherty), and Garret (Yani Gellman) have been left off the network’s suspect tracker.

Meanwhile, Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) current flame, Paige (Lindsay Shaw) is still holding ranks at No. 1 on the list in which fans tweet their guesses for the upcoming season finale. While we’ll have to wait until next Tuesday to learn more about her connection to Allison (Sasha Pieterse), “What Lies Beneath” gave us some insight into the timeline of former flame Maya’s (Bianca Lawson) death and her connection to the Kahns.

Note: Spoiler’s ahead if you haven’t seen Tuesday’s episode.

Apparently, Noel had a texting relationship with the slain significant other of Emily as in he hooked her up with marijuana once in a while. Unbeknownst to us whether the Kahns knew it or not, but Maya also used a secret room in their cabin as her hideout.

Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Em began piecing this information together through a lost note from Maya that she wrote on her last day alive and pictures on her website. They found a bag of Maya’s belongings in the room and amongst the clothes and items was a card Emily wrote for Ali on her 14th Birthday and a knife encraved with the initials, L.J. There was also a plane ticket indicating Maya never did leave Rosewood when she said she did. Why did Maya need a knife? What happened all that time in Rosewood? These are all new questions we’re asking ourselves.

The bigger question is how did “A” know they were there and is this “A” the same one who killed Maya? Moments after finding the items, the girls were trapped. After some kick ass beating down of the doors from Emily and a stab wound to Hanna’s leg, the girls were free. Not without a message from their tormentor, of course. Written in blood red spray paint on the wall of the cabin was “I’m saving you for later, – ‘A.’”

Spencer (Troian Bellisario) also got some help from Noel. After unsuccessfully snooping in his gym locker, the footballer sent her an email with a video link saying, “Is this what you were looking for?”

The video was survelliance footage of the cabin from the night Maya died. Garret’s file indicated he was with her at 9 PM that night yet Maya shows up on the footage around 10:04 PM on her bike. So, it’s clear he wasn’t the last to see her. Maya again surfaces on the time around 1: 14 AM and then is quickly grabbed off-screen — just moments before we saw Noel and Jenna heading into the cabin. Now that we have these three suspects for murder off our list, who could be Maya’s killer?

All signs are pointing to Paige, but we have to wonder if this may be a red herring? She definitely showed major hostility when seeing Emily and Nate (Sterling Sulieman) kiss. (Which by the way, EW!) Things are sure to become clearer in next week’s penultimate episode when we learn about her past with Ali.

In other storylines meant to distract us from what’s really going on but not really doing a great job at it: Wren (Julian Morris) is still hitting on Hanna. Ella Montgomery (Holly Marie Combs) is dating Zach (Steve Talley), the coffee shop owner and “Ezria” are still fighting about his past. Conveniently, though not so much for Aria (Lucy Hale), Ezra (Ian Harding) has found his former girlfriend in Delaware, even though he never could before. Looks like this will be one storyline that will continue in the winter.

An LOL moment we just had to mention was the always included “A” endcap. Just how many black hoodies can you own and do you really have to hang them up like that?

Buzz Moments:

OMG: Did anyone else get chills as Maya was grabbed from the surveillance tape?

Thank you, TV Gods: With each passing episode, more clues have come our way regarding the mystery of Maya and her death. We are very grateful.

Awk-ward: Paige and Emily just feel awkward in every scene. Can we stop trying to make them happen?

Hotness: We’re not going to lie, that smoldering, creepy look Noel Kahn gave when telling Spence, “It’s kind of hot knowing that you think I’m capable of murder” was well, kind of hot.

Fab-u-lous: That polka dot Adidas jacket that Aria was rocking was killer.

Can. Not. Wait.: #thebetrAyal is two episodes away and new information about Paige is forthcoming. Is it Tuesday yet?

Why do you think Noel willingly gave the video to Spencer? Is it part of a bigger plan? Do you think Paige killed Maya? Sound off in the comments below!
