The couple open up about their relationship.
Jennifer Aniston’s high school sweetheart is speaking out about his former fling’s pending nuptials — and he couldn’t be happier for her.

“I’m thrilled to know that she’s found someone she loves and trusts,” Michael Baroni told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview.

“I wish her all the future happiness.”

When did his romance with the newly engaged star begin?

The California attormey claims to have dated the future Mrs. Justin Theroux in the summer of 1984 when the then-15-year-old Aniston was attending The Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan.

Although their romance only last a few months when he was 16, Baroni — who made news in 2005 for attempting to auction love letters from his time spent with the former Friends star before canceling the eBay sale — says his favorite memory actually took place 10 years before the two even started dating.

“I was six years old and Jennifer was five,” Baroni remembered. “I was with my grandparents at a little place called the Sandpiper Inn in Southampton and playing on the beach with a little girl.”

“My grandmother had struck up a conversation with the little girl’s mother, and they were getting along really well, and my grandfather kept egging me on to kiss this cute little girl or give her a hug. So instead, she got up, threw her arms around me and gave me a peck on the cheek.”

The little girl was Aniston, and only years later did Baroni realize who gave him the unforgettable smooch.

“When we started going out, the memory came back after meeting her mother Nancy. So I asked her, ‘Are you Jennifer from the beach?’ And she said ‘Yes!’ and told me how much she just loved the pink bikini [she wore],” he laughed. “I love that memory.”

Baroni has said that even though their romance didn’t blossom, his friendship with Aniston did  — it lasted until 1991 just as Aniston’s star was on the rise.

As for the other memorabilia Baroni has kept?  He says it will never go on the auction block again.

“I have them in a safe place,” he said.
