Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Catch Phish Concert
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez escaped the world of pop music on Wednesday night.
The headline-grabbing couple headed to Long Beach Arena to rock out to the beats of jam band Phish, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
But catching the concert wasn't their idea.
Bieber and his lady-love tagged along to the show with his musical director Dan Kanter, who has long asked his international pop star pal to check out the band, according to THR.
Along with a group of friends, Bieber and Gomez grooved to Phish's first set before heading backstage to meet the band during intermission.
After Bieber greeted Phish bassist Mike Gordon and guitarist and frontman Trey Anastasio, the dudes dished about music together.
During the group's second set, Bieber and Gomez let loose, chucking glowsticks in traditional Phish fashion (such wars break out at all of the band's gigs). Even though the loved-up pair were supposed to hit the road following intermission, they stuck around with pals nearly through the end of the show. An eyewitness told THR, "They were having a blast."
