'The Colbert Report' Hires New Interns: Team USA Gymnastics' 'Fierce Five' (VIDEO)
Enter the "Fierce Five," fresh off “some kind of study abroad program in London” where they learned a lot about the Olympics and Gold.
What task did Colbert make the Olympic Gold Medal Gymnasts do?
They delivered his pen like no other interns could.
With a cartwheel from Gabby Douglas, a back walk-over from McKayla Maroney, some floor moves from Aly Raisman, walkout back handsprings from Kyla Ross and a walking handstand from Jordyn Weiber, Colbert got his pen in style to loud cheers from the crowd.
At the Olympics in London, the girls won Team gold. “Flying Squirrel” Douglas also won the Individual All-Around gold medal. Massachusetts native Raisman won two individual medals: Gold in Floor and bronze in the Balance Beam. Though she landed a perfect vault in the team final, Maroney fell during the individual vault finals and ended up with a silver to which a thousand memes were inspired.
At the end of the clip above, you can see Maroney was “not impressed” with her new gig.
Who do you think the 'Fierce Five' will visit next?
