Joseph Gordon-Levitt on '500 Days' Fans' Fantasy of Zooey Deschanel Hookup: Awkward (And Funny)
Though Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel made fans believe in love with their indie flick 500 Days of Summer, don't be expect them to be taking their adorable chemistry offscreen any time soon.
In fact, Gordon-Levitt thinks its "awkward" for fans to want to see the costars get together romantically.
"Zooey and I just think it’s funny. It is funny," he told Playboy magazine. "We’ve been friends for 10 years."
What other things did he say about the New Girl starlet?
"She’s turned me on to so many good movies and so much good music. It’s fun just to have conversations, watch movies with her and stuff like that," Gordon-Levitt, 31, said.
The two actors first met on the set of Manic and since collaborated on numerous projects together. In 2009, Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel starred in the music video for her band She & Him's "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here," and later released a joint homemade cover of the 1947 classic "What Are You Doing New Year's Ever?" in 2011.
"It’s fun just to have conversations, watch movies with her and stuff like that," Gordon-Levitt added about the 32-year-old actress.
However, awkwardness isn't the only thing stopping stopping the two indie heartthrobs from hooking up: Deschanel is currently dating screenwirter Jamie Linden after filing for divorce from rocker Ben Gibbard in January.
