Rosie O’Donnell’s Former Girlfriend Says She ‘Told Her to Take Care of Herself’ (EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW)
Tracy Kachtick-Anders, who dated the comedienne for a year before they split in 2011, spoke to Celebuzz exclusively just after reading the reports on the Internet.
“As I said to her, we all want her here with us and the world wouldn’t be the same without her,” Kachtick-Anders told Celebuzz.
What else did Rosie’s ex have to say?
“I told her to take care of herself.”
O’Donnell said her experience on Aug. 14 was nothing short of a “miracle” and she’s “happy to be alive” since suffering chest aches and body pains after helping “an enormous woman struggling to get out of her car.”
Immediately taking to the Internet, O’Donnell took Bayer aspirin after remembering a famous ad — and through it all still managed to show off her famous wit: “Thank god/saved by a tv commercial/literally,” she wrote Monday on her blog.
The next day O’Donnell’s cardiologist discovered her coronary artery was 99 percent blocked, and although she wrote she didn’t call 911, O’Donnell urged everyone to “listen to the voice inside” and “call 911”.
“They call this type of heart attack/the Widow Maker/i am lucky to be here,” she wrote.
Kachtick-Anders said after reading the blog entry she immediately called her ex to check on her: “I told her I’m thinking about her and I want her to be healthy for herself and her kids. A lot of people love her.”
While they dated Kachtick-Anders admitted O’Donnell was always concerned about her health, considering her family background.
“Her mother died of breast cancer so she always stayed on top of her health with doctors.
“I think when that happens you think more about a breast cancer scare, but she was always on top of it.”
O’Donnell has faced some serious realities recently given her fianceé Michelle Rounds was also diagnosed with desmoids tumors.
“I know it’s been a rough past few months for her and it’s scary,” said Kachtick-Anders. “Anyone who has been through things as serious as them start to reassess what’s important.
“It helps get priorities in shape and slow down. But Rosie has always enjoyed life.”
O’Donnell has always been outspoken about her weight issues, even sitting down earlier this year with Dr. Oz to talk about her diet and fitness goals: “But it’s never an easy battle. It’s hard,” said her ex.
O’Donnell has even had to postpone her nuptials due to her bride-to-be’s rare illness, but even when it is planned Kachtick-Anders doesn’t expect a save the date in the mail: “I don’t think I would be (invited),” she said with a laugh.
“But I have nothing but good things to say about her and will always wish her peace and happiness in life.”
