“I think it was destiny,” the entertainer tells Celebuzz. “Because the dancing gods really wanted me to win and I lost, so this is their way of saying, ‘Kyle we got your back.’”
ABC apparently didn’t use up all of its tricks with its upcoming All-Stars season. It also named three wild cards who America would vote into the competition: Massey, Season 13’s Carson Kressley and Season 5’s Sabrina Bryan.
What can America expect if it votes Massey into the competition?
“If I return, I promise the viewers that not only will they have fun but they’re going to go on this journey with me,” Massey, 20, tells us. “They’re going to feel like they’re in the ballroom dancing with me, because I’m doing this for the people. I am the dancer of the people.”
All joking aside, Massey sounds as if he has really put the work in to come out on top if he makes it into the competition. For the past four months, he has been performing in Dancing With the Stars Live at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. And it sounds like the aches, pain and exhaustion are worth it.
“I look at my old dances and some of the things I did and knowing what I know now, I can look back on it and see what I did wrong,” he says. “I’m my worst critic and I can look at my dances and some of my posture and think, ‘What was this kid doing? He was such an amateur.’ So now when I go back, I’ll have a good perspective.”
Voting ends Friday at noon and the winner of the show’s last open spot will be announced on GMA next Monday. And by the way, Monday happens to be the day before Massey’s 21st birthday.
Wouldn’t it be a great gift if Massey won the wild card spot for his birthday? “That’s what I’m saying!” Massey exclaimed when we suggested it.
