One Direction's Zayn Malik Deletes Twitter Account -- And Breaks 5 Million Hearts
Zayn Malik, a member of the popular British boy band One Direction, deleted his Twitter account on Tuesday, much to the despair of his more-than 5 million Twitter followers.
One of the 19-year-old phenom's last tweets was a message to his fans. “The reason i don't tweet as much as i use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter :)
But what was the singer's final tweet?
He added: "My fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account , :) x"
Of course, Directioners were not happy with Malik's decision to quit Twitter. The hashtag #ComeBackZayn became a trending topic throughout the night.
One Direction's Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson's girlfriends Danielle Peaze and Eleanor Calder, respectively, have both endured their share of Twitter abuse.
In June, Payne tweeted a series of messages in defense Peazer, who has been charged by some One Direction fans with only dating the singer because he is famous.
"Just as I start to like twitter again I see the nasty side of people who like to dislike somebody who makes me … Me," the 18-year-old wrote. He added: ""#SometimesIHateTwitter when it becomes a place to abuse people who uve never met never did anything to you but you still choose to be cruel (sic)."
"To all those people who are going to be d**ks and tweet her horrible stuff now just because i mentioned it … boring grow up."
