Carly Rae Jepsen Rocks 'Today': Says Justin Bieber's 'Call Me Maybe' Is Her Favorite (VIDEO)
Yeah, we here at Celebuzz can’t get “Call Me Maybe” out of our heads either (see the lyrics on DirectLyrics). So when Carly Rae Jepsen performed the hit song Thursday as part of the Today show concert series, we knew we’d be singing it all day. Even her performance with Owl City couldn't get the catchy tune out of our heads.
The song that sparked a million YouTube videos featuring everyone from the Olympic swim team to Kelly Clarkson to President Obama has spent nine weeks at number one on the charts.
So what is Jepsen’s favorite video take on her hit?
“It is tough to pick a favorite. I think for me the special one remains the Justin Bieber one. Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, it was sort of the video that sparked them all so I think it’s forever going to hold a bit of a special place for me.”
The 26-year-old, whose album entitled Kiss is being released Sept. 18, says the song was originally written with her acoustic guitar and two of her good friends, Tavish Crowe and Josh Ramsey. “We started off simple and it just went off from there.”
Since hitting it big, the former Canadian Idol alum says her life has been very “dreamlike.”
“I wake up every day pinching myself feeling very fortunate, very lucky to live my childhood 7-year-old girl dream. Who gets to do that?”
