'Boss' Star Kelsey Grammer Tells Oprah He 'Owed' Ex-Wife Camille Fame (VIDEO)
It has been more than a year since Kelsey Grammer’s divorce from ex-wife Camille Grammer was finalized, but that doesn’t mean the couple’s past dramas are behind them.
In a preview clip for this Sunday night’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, the Boss star tells Oprah Winfrey he believes he "owed" Camille fame.
How did Oprah get Kelsey to admit that?
"You already knew your marriage was over, it had already gone on too long, according to you, because it was over when it started and it was a facade," Winfrey says to Grammer during the interview, which airs this Sunday at 9 PM on OWN. "But you lacked the courage to come home and say something."
“Yeah, I did,” Grammer responds. “And I did believe that I owed something to that person, that I owed fame,” he says refusing to use Camille’s name.
Using sarcasm, Grammer adds: "She had given up so much to just endure this horrible life she had with me," he says.
It's not the first time the former Frasier star has claimed his ex-wife owes her celebrity to him. According to The Huffington Post, in October of 2011, the actor told the Australian morning show Sunrise that Camille’s reality TV career on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was his “parting gift” to her.
“It was a very difficult marriage and a very difficult decade," he said. "I thought, 'So long, here's a present for you.'"
The couple's messy divorce was finalized in February 2011, and just two weeks later, Grammer married his current wife Katye Walsh, a flight attendant he admitted to starting an affair with six months before splitting with Camille.
