'Premium Rush' vs. 'The Apparition': Box Office Battle (POLL)
Prepare to get your pulse racing as two of the season's biggest thrillers hit theaters Friday.
The Dark Knight Rises' Joseph Gordon-Levitt continues to heat up the summer with a new action-packed flick -- but his box office reign may be cut short as Twilight's Ashley Greene and the Harry Potter series' Tom Felton team up for horror film.
What are these movies about? Celebuzz is breaking it down.
In Premium Rush, Gordon-Levitt plays Wilee, a dedicated bike messenger who inadvertently stumbles onto a dirty cop's schemes when he's assigned to deliver a sealed envelope. Now with his life on the line, Wilee sets off a cat-and-mouse chase through New York City traffic in hopes of delivering the documents into safe hands.
The 31-year-old star literally spilled blood, sweat and tears for the film as his bicycle collided with a taxi during film on August 1, 2010. The impact sent him flying into the rear window of the cab, giving him a large slash on his arm that required 31 stitches.
However, The Apparition is hot on the tails of Gordon-Levitt's new movie.
Starring Greene and Gossip Girl actor Sebastian Stan, the film centers around a couple who discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured as a university parapsychology experiment.
The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear, and it's up to supernatural expert Patrick (Felton) to stop the terrifying force.
