Brooklyn Decker Goes Camping … In the Arctic (PHOTOS)
The swimsuit model-turned-actress recently visited the Marsh Fork of the Canning River in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — a remote area that is visited by less than 50 people a year — and shared photos from her unconventional getaway.
Decker, 25, spent the week on a Sierra Club Outing exploring and camping in Alaska. During her trip, she floated down the Canning River, went white-water rafting through the most rugged portions of Brooks Range, and took a dip in a freezing Arctic river.
What does she think about her wild adventure?
“Getting outdoors has always been an important part of my life. Going on a Sierra Club Outing to the Arctic was an enlightening experience and gave me a chance to reconnect with nature,” she says. “Anyone who spends time enjoying our planet knows exactly why it’s important to protect places like the Arctic.”
Decker, who’s currently married to tennis star Andy Roddick, also tweeted about her experience. She wrote on Wednesday, “Still in awe of the incredible trip I had to the Alaskan Arctic.”
