'Dexter' Actor Leaving Showtime Series During Season 7 (EXCLUSIVE)
Miami Metro Homicide is losing yet another detective...
A major character on Showtime's hit serial killer drama Dexter is leaving the show, a source close to the production confirms exclusively to Celebuzz.
Who's meeting their maker on the cable hit?
Actor Billy Brown, who joined the show on Season 6 as Detective Mike Anderson -- a sharply dressed transfer from Chicago with an impressive solve rate -- is leaving on the upcoming season. And we hear Mike could be leaving the old fashioned way -- by getting killed off!
Brown departs the show just as several new actors have joined the cast in recurring roles, including Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski, who will play Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a violent past that she's struggled to put behind her. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) crosses paths with Hannah when Miami Metro Homicide seeks her help in solving old cases.
Jason Gedrick (Luck, Desperate Housewives) is also joining the cast of Dexter on Season 7. He'll play the manager of a Miami-area gentlemen's club that becomes linked to a high-profile murder case at the Miami Metro Homicide division.
A Showtime rep tells Celebuzz they have no comment on Brown's departure.
The new season of Dexter premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9 PM on Showtime.
