Kim Kardashian Turns Political for DNC: ‘Everyone Should Take Voting Seriously’ (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Kim Kardashian is getting out the vote.

The E! reality star cut her Fashion’s Night Out short to fly to Charlotte, N.C., for a Democratic National Convention after-party.

“I’ll be at the Official DNC after party this Thurs, September 6 at Club Hush in Charlotte, NC!” Kardashian tweeted earlier in the week. “Excited to see everyone there!!”

But before she skipped town, Celebuzz chatted with Kardashian about her political persuasions during the launch of her fifth fragrance, True Reflection, at Lord & Taylor in New York City.

What did the TV-star-turned-entrepreneur have to say about the upcoming election?

“I think voting is a very personal thing,” Kardashian said. “I think everyone should take it seriously and vote.” And the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star encouraged Americans to “really educate themselves,” a message she’s pushed on her personal Celebuzz website.

“Regardless of your previous political stance, who your parents are voting for or who your friends are supporting, it’s important that we each make our own decision this year when it comes to voting!” she wrote in a post reminding individuals that “your voice counts.”

But Kardashian’s politically minded trip mixed business with pleasure.

“I’m going with a bunch of friends,” revealed the star, who later tweeted a photo of her and a group of pals — including BFF Jonathan Cheban and designer Rachel Roy, but sans beau Kanye West — mid-air on a private jet en route to Charlotte. “I think it will be really fun. We’re gonna head out there and, ya know, have a good time.”

And Kardashian wasn’t the only star in town on Thursday. Many A-listers were on hand to close out the DNC on Thursday. Scarlett Johansson, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria all took center stage to address the cheering crowds, before President Barack Obama delivered the convention’s final speech to officially accept the Democratic nomination for four more years in the White House.

Later that night, Jessica Alba hosted a closing fundraiser called Super-O-Rama at the Fillmore in Charlotte with husband Cash Warren.
