Cancer may have claimed some of Hollywood’s brightest stars in the past, but celebrities are fighting back this Friday as TV’s biggest networks are banding together the third Stand Up To Cancer TV special.

The telethon, which will be aired commercial-free simultaneously across 21 channels, boasts an extra number of stars this year as A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow, Justin Timberlake, Emma StoneHalle Berry, Tom Hanks and Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet are set to join the telecast.

However, those aren’t the only famous faces who’s challenged cancer.

From singer Kylie Minogue to Up All Night’s Christina Applegate, many Hollywood celebs have actually fought the deadly disease — and won.

Cyclist Lance Armstrong famously overcame his battle with testicular cancer in 1996 and went on to win seven Tour de France titles. The athlete even set up a foundation, Livestrong, to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

Likewise, America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne and Happily Divorced star Fran Drescher have also set up individual cancer foundations after their battles.
