Miley Cyrus Covers 'Lilac Wine' and Announces Plans for New Single (VIDEO)
Cyrus' newly released cover of James Shelton's 1950 classic "Lilac Wine" proves just how talented the 18-year-old singer really is. She's no longer the teen phenomenon that needs to rely on the bells and whistles of modern pop music. Now Cyrus relies on her stunning vibrato to carry a tune -- nothing more, nothing less.
The singer also announced new music before the year's end!
"How do y'all feel about me confirming a single for this year!!!!," Cyrus tweeted last week.
She confirmed the news to Access Hollywood. "I’m really, really excited to put out new music and look different," she said.
Meanwhile, her "Lilac Wine" cover was part of the young singer's "Backyard Sessions," which took place earlier this summer when Cyrus, 18, brought her band together to perform some of her favorite songs. "Lilac Wine" is the first of these acoustic covers to be released.
Cyrus recorded an acoustic cover of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" for the album, Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan.
