Chris Brown's New Tattoo Shockingly Resembles Rihanna -- But It's Not Her, Says Brown (PHOTO)
The black-and-white ink depicts a woman's partially disfigured face, with many even likening the image to the disturbing photo of Rihanna's battered face taken in 2009 after Brown violently assaulted her.
However, Brown's camp denies that the new tat has any affiliation with his ex-girlfriend. A rep for Brown confirmed to Gossip Cop that the tattoo “is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported.”
According to the same rep, the new ink is, in fact, a cross between a sugar skull and a MAC cosmetics design that Brown had seen and liked.
Nevertheless, the image harks back to that fateful night in 2009 when Brown's physical assault left Rihanna hospitalized with bruises and lacerations on her face.
However, three years later, the pair have apparently made amends. During an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna admitted that Brown was the love of her life. "“He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way," she said.
Most recently, the couple shared a brief, friendly hug after Rihanna took home the award for Video of the Year (“We Found Love”) at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Rihanna debuted a new tat of her own on Monday. In memory of her late grandmother, the singer etched an image of the Egyptian goddess Isis, kneeling with her wings spread, across her ribcage.
