The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Resident Evil: Retribution are just two of the new contenders debuting at the box office this weekend — and both are facing demons of their own.

Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, Perks revolves around a young boy who is forced to face high school alone after his one and only friend commits suicide the summer before. In an attempt to get his mind off his dark, traumatizing thoughts, he befriends a quirky senior brother-and-sister duo who introduces to a world of sex, drugs and indie music.

What’s Resident Evil: Retribution fending off this weekend?

Aside from actual contending movies like Finding Nemo 3D and P.T. Anderson’s The Master, the movie boasts plenty of butt-kicking as everyone’s favorite zombie killer for the successful franchise’s fifth installment.

Milla Jovovich reprises her role as Alice, the super-human who time and time again must stop the evil Umbrella Corporation’s T-virus from infecting the innocent.

Resident Evil actress Michelle Rodriguez also returns in this installment after being killed off in the first movie.
