Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Honeymoon in Virginia (EXCLUSIVE DETAILS)
Instead of touring Paris or jetting off to a remote exotic island, the Green Lantern couple spent two romantic days at the acclaimed Inn at Little Washington before venturing out to enjoy a late dinner at a local restaurant.
So why Little Washington for the newlyweds?
According to the local residents, many celebrities choose to hide out in the small town -- which is actually only two streets wide and five streets long -- to escape the paparazzi.
Joanie Ballard, who owns R. H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home, said she didn’t see the newlyweds, but she “wouldn’t be surprised” if they honeymooned in her hometown.
"We’ve had many famous people come here. They’ll usually stay at the inn because it’s extremely beautiful and private," she told Celebuzz.
The five-star Inn at Little Washington is part of the Relais & Châteaux exclusive collection of 500 hotels and restaurants. The inn also features one of the most renowned gourmet restaurants in the area.
According to local resident Susan James, owner of the Stonyman Gourmet Farmer, Sunday was also Constitution Day for the small town, which had townspeople roaming the streets in 18th century garb.
Though it's unknown whether or not the newlyweds joined in the festivities, the couple did make it back to New York City in time for Lively's Gossip Girl shoot Monday morning.
Sporting a long black gown and Ugg boots, the actress quickly got back to work reprising her role as Serena Van Der Woodsen.
