Lindsay Lohan Arrested: Relive the Star's Troubled Timeline (GALLERY)
Just when fans thought Lindsay Lohan had changed her troubled ways, the embattled actress was arrested in New York and charged with leaving the scene of an accident early Wednesday morning. She allegedly hit a pedestrian with her vehicle.
The Liz & Dick star, 26, hit the knee of an unidentified male as she was pulling into her hotel in downtown New York. Though someone inside Lohan’s vehicle did get out to assess the damages before retreating inside, the starlet was later arrested around 2:30AM for fleeing the scene.
Of course, this wasn't Lohan's first brush with the law.
In 2011, Lohan was in and out of court after allegedly shoplifting a necklace from a jewelry store -- a crime she was sentenced 480 hours of community service and therapy sessions for.
On March 29, the embattled star made her last appearance in court after completing her community service -- where the judge declared, "She did it."
Since then, Lohan has kept her distance from law enforcement officials. The starlet's own father Michael even declared her innocence soon after her recent arrest.
“From what we know now, she will be completely exonerated,” he told Celebuzz exclusively.
“They tested her and she wasn’t drinking,” Michael said, adding that right now, “Lindsay is okay. She’s sleeping, and I’m letting her rest.”
Likewise, Lohan's rep Steve Honig echoed the Hollywood dad's sentiments, saying the actress' case will be wrapped up relatively quickly.
“While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing,” Honig said in a statement.
“We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue.”
Lindsay Lohan’s publicist says the furor over the actress’ Wednesday morning hit-and-run is “much ado about nothing” and the charge against her “will be cleared up in the coming weeks.” On The Daily Buzz, our panel investigates.
