Amanda Bynes Denies Drinking, Claims She's 'Doing Amazing'
Despite facing a DUI charge and two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run, troubled starlet Amanda Bynes insists she's doing just fine.
"I am doing amazing," Bynes, 26, said Wednesday in an exclusive phone interview with PEOPLE.
"I am retired as an actor," the actress -- who hasn't been in a movie since 2010's Easy A -- continued. "I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line."
"I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don't drink, and I don't drink and drive. It is all false."
Bynes was expected to appear in court on Friday for her DUI charge; however, she managed to move the appearance up to Wednesday with the help of her lawyer.
At the hearing, Bynes managed to escape a $50,000 bail charge that the District Attorney had tried to impose on her, due to her subsequent reckless behavior behind the wheel.
Bynes is currently facing three charges: one for driving under the influence following an incident on April 6, in which she ran her BMW into a police cruiser; and two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run for incidents which occurred on April 10 and Aug. 4, respectively.
If convicted, she could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
