Maksim Chmerkovskiy to Leave 'Dancing With the Stars' After Three More Seasons
Maksim Chmerkovskiy will exit the ballroom floor when his contract expires at the end of next year, the pro dance told the NY Post this week.
"What else do I have to do there after 15 seasons?" he said. "It makes total sense. The audience can't expect for me to want to stick around, and the producers can't expect for me to want to stick around."
So what's up next for the hoofer?
The 32-year-old pro, who has been a controversial figure during his time with ABC's top-rated program, says he will pursue an acting career and, potentially, a reality show with his brother, Val, after he hangs up his Dancing shoes for good.
Chmerkovskiy joined Dancing in season 2.
He will compete in the upcoming All-Stars edition with Kirstie Alley, beginning Monday, Sept. 24 at 8PM.
