Billie Joe Armstrong to Seek Treatment for Substance Abuse Following Bizarre Meltdown at Music Festival
Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong is seeking professional help after having a meltdown onstage during Friday’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
The band issued a statement on their official Facebook page on Sunday.
“Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”
The 40-year-old rocker went off on a bizarre rant on Friday.
When the band was given a one-minute warning to wrap their set onstage, Armstrong lost it and screamed, “You’re f--king kidding me. What the f--k! I’m not f--king Justin Bieber, you motherf--kers . . I got one minute, one minute left.”
The meltdown was caught on video and has since gone viral in the music world and beyond.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival wrapped on Saturday night following performances from Taylor Swift, Aerosmith, No Doubt and Pink.
