Jimmy Fallon kept the jokes coming during his red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest on E! at the Emmy Awards on Sunday.

The talk show host joked, “I’m just happy to be alive, I just gotta be honest—Amanda Bynes gave me a ride over. I am just happy to be here.”

Fallon, 38, is of course is poking fun at Bynes’ recent run-ins with the law including two counts of driving on a suspended license, a DUI charge and a pair of hit-and-run charges. Already an Emmy winner at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his stint hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Fallon is also nominated for his show, NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

What else did the funny man tell Seacrest?

Having previously hosted the awards, he spoke about the confusion of many, including his own mother, that he was actually hosting the awards. He says that host Jimmy Kimmel is “going to kill it” tonight and is probably practicing his monologue as they speak.

Fallon kept the jokes coming during his interview referencing his invite to Honey Boo Boo’s Emmy after-party. He also talked about his new adorable dog and his show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Ending the interview with another quip, he said, “To be honest I didn’t even have a ticket to the Emmys tonight but Clint Eastwood saved me a chair.”

To which Seacrest responded “Are you sure you’re not hosting?”
