Chris Brown Fails Drug Test, Gets Support From Rihanna on Twitter
A judge overseeing felony battery charges against Chris Brown has decided not to revoke his probation after the R&B singer tested positive for marijuana in June.
According to TMZ, Brown — whose charges stem from a 2009 incident in which he brutally attacked his then-girlfriend, Rihanna — was able to escape any further legal headaches as Judge Patricia Schnegg never ordered mandatory drug testing in Brown's case.
Instead, Schnegg let him off with a stern warning to 0bey all laws. She also moved the case from Virginia, where Brown is currently fulfilling court-mandated community service hours, to his home state of California.
Brown failed the drug test on June 18 in Virginia. He admitted to his probation officer that he had smoked pot in California, where he holds a medical marijuana card, according to the report.
Meanwhile, Brown received some unlikely support from Rihanna as he made his way to his hearing on Monday.
"Praying for you baby, my best wishes are with you today! Remember that whatever God does in our lives, it is WELL DONE!!! #1Love," the singer wrote on Twitter.
She also wrote a tweet directly to Brown, saying, "I'm praying for you and wishing u the best today!"
To which Brown replied, "Thank u so much."
