'Twilight' Actor Kellan Lutz Wants to Star in '50 Shades of Grey'

Just when we thought  Fifty Shades of Grey couldn’t get any hotter, Kellan Lutz says he wants in on the movie adaptation of the erotic novel.

The Twilight hunk has been spurred on to get involved after learning he is a fan favorite to star in the film.

But Lutz doesn’t want to play the raunchy leading man -- the kinky billionaire Christian Grey -- and instead has his sights set on another part.

Who is he planning to portray?

The 27-year-old told Parade that he wants to play Christian’s carefree brother, Elliot Grey, because he can relate to him more.

“I haven’t read the books: I need to though,” he admitted. “The fans saw similarities between Emmett (from Twilight) and Elliot. I don’t know much about either."

He continued, “I know Christian is the lead but that’s why I didn’t want to play Edward Cullen. He wasn’t really like me. I’ll trust the fans.”

Rumors are still running rampant regarding the cast as both the studio and author E L James have kept mum who's in the running for the lead roles.

Hollywood hunks Alexander SkarsgaardIan Somerhalder and adult film star James Deen have all been linked to the part, though there's been no confirmation as who's been approached with a script.

As for Anastasia Steele, a college student who gets into an S&M relationship with Christian, Pretty Little Liars stars Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson have both expressed interest in playing the role.

Do you think he fits the part? Let us know who you think should be cast in the film in the comments section below.

I completely agree. I'm surprised the thing has been so darned popular.

Agreed! And that doesn't even consider the fact that these books are so poorly written that they should never have become popular in the first place. Literature, they ain't. They're not even good erotica. Ugh. The decline of women's intelligence.

Considering 50 Shades is actually Twilight fanfiction in disguise, and Elliot was based on Emmett, it's not shocking. But really, this shouldn't become a movie at all. It portrays an abusive, unhealthy relationship. A proper BDSM relationship, which is what this depicts, is nothing like what people read in 50 Shades. It's mediocre writing and honestly made me want to vomit. As someone who is in a REAL D/s relationship, it makes me sick to think women believe this stuff is how reality should be. So disgusting and disturbing.

he probably know's himself best and if he say's Elliot is a better fit for him then he's probably right, who are we to argue :) he's a hottie no matter which roll he plays :)

  • Sarah

Oh yeah! He would do just fine as Christian. He has the same staure that Christian would have. Would love to see him as Christian Grey..

Hm no, i know you can use dye on hair and all that, but I really like that Ian guy, and i did fancy that matthew whatever his name is. Am hopeless these days. Lots more in the books than Christian and Ana though, and when I saw this new face (new to me) i instantly thought he could play Lelliot or even Ethan.

I think he would be the best Christian Grey! He is who I envisioned as my Christian Grey reading the books

  • Jessica

Reading the books I had always pictured Kellan Lutz as Elliot

Kellen Outs would make a great Elliot Grey! With Ian Somerhalder as Christian. Lucy Hale sounds like a better choice as Ana.
