Adele Singing James Bond Theme Song: Details for 'Skyfall' Track Revealed
After much speculation and ado, the singer's Skyfall title track has come to light — lyrics and all. "Let The Sky Fall" is an "ominous, dramatic ballad," reports Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman, who claims he's heard to much-anticipated 007 tune.
The news comes just a month after Adele was spotted emerging from England’s iconic Abbey Road studios, where big-time composer Thomas Newman — who’s worked on scores for films like American Beauty and Shawshank Redemption — was producing the Skyfall soundtrack.
But the 007 film team is still staying hush-hush on their top-secret theme song.
Adele's publicist Paul Moss, however, has seemingly confirmed the Grammy winner's new Bond theme, tweeting: "Are you ready for the SkyFall Theme song? Hope you are because it's coming and it's going to explode."
And her one-time collaborator, songwriter Ryan Tedder, is hailing the theme song as the end-all-be-all of Bond tunes. "I've heard it. Best bond song in my lifetime. Hands down," Tedder tweeted, before deleting the post.
Tedder also revealed that Adele's Rolling In The Deep collaborator Paul Epworth lent a hand on the Bond record. "Hats off once again to Paul Epworth and Adele. hope they win Oscar."
Adele — who is expecting a baby with beau Simon Konecki — surely wouldn't be the first chart topper to collaborate with Bond. Over the years, the long-running spy saga franchise has feature the vocals of everyone from Paul McCartney and Nancy Sinatra to Alicia Keys and Madonna.
Even if the filmmakers continue to keep secret who’s singing the closing-credits track, fans will find out soon enough: Daniel Craig’s third run in the iconic role — and the 23rd James Bond film — will hit the big screen on Nov. 9.
