Amanda Bynes Pleads Not Guilty to Hit-and-Run Charges
Amanda Bynes has pleaded not guilty to two hit-and-run charges from incidents in April and August of this year, People reports.
The 26-year-old actress, who is currently in New York, sent her lawyer Richard Hutton to plead on her behalf at the Van Nuys, Calif. hearing Thursday morning.
L.A. Superior Court Judge Rebecca Omens has, however, ordered Bynes to return to Los Angeles within 48 hours of her next scheduled hearing on Oct. 19.
Bynes’ not-guilty plea is just one of several headlines the former Nickelodeon star has made this week.
One eyewitness told us that the troubled star wore headphones and sunglasses inside the store, where she purchased a ‘Dreaming Princess’ cupcake and cappuccino. Bynes then took a long bathroom break -- estimated to be more than 30 minutes -- which caused a fellow bakery patron to knock on the door.
“The workers at the bakery even turned down the music to see if they could hear any noise coming from the bathroom,” the source told us.
When Bynes finally opened the door, she reportedly told patrons “I was doing my makeup.”
Since flying to the Big Apple over the weekend, Bynes has also been spotted indulging in some heavy retail therapy.
Last Friday, the Easy A actress was charged with two counts of driving with a suspended license stemming from a double traffic stop on Sept. 16. Bynes also has a DUI charge from April.
