Troubled actress Amanda Bynes is adamant that the truth about her bizarre behavior remains untold.

"It's all lies,” she texted a Celebuzz reporter. "Don't spread them."

One thing that's undeniably true: the 26-year-old has plenty of legal woes.

On Thursday, Bynes pleaded not guilty to two hit-and-run charges from incidents in April and August of this year. Her attorney Richard Hutton appeared at the Van Nuys, Calif. hearing on her behalf, as Bynes is currently in NYC.

And she's certainly making her mark on the Big Apple: this week, the former child star was involved in a bizarre bathroom incident in SoHo.

As exclusively reported by Celebuzz, Bynes spent two hours at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Wednesday night. An eyewitness says she took an unusually long bathroom break, estimated at more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a fellow patron -- coincidentally, a firefighter -- became so concerned that he began knocking on the bathroom door.

“The workers at the bakery even turned down the music to see if they could hear any noise coming from the bathroom,” the source said. Staffers then closed the entire shop to focus on the Bynes emergency.

“[The firefighter] tried to get her to respond, through the door, for almost 15 minutes,” said the source. “Finally, he called the police and asked if he had their okay to break down the door.”

That's when Bynes finally emerged, telling patrons, “I was doing my makeup.”

As previously reported by Celebuzz, Bynes' worried uncle is blaming the actress' decline on alcohol abuse. “She needs to stop drinking and driving,” Ronald Bynes revealed. “She needs help.”

On Thursday, he said simply, "I hope she gets better."

Bynes will soon have to leave NYC and head west: L.A. Superior Court Judge Rebecca Omens ordered her to return to Los Angeles within 48 hours of her next hearing, set for Oct. 19.
