Lindsay Lohan Attacked: Charges Dropped From Sunday Morning Assault in New York (REPORT)
Hours after New York City police arrested Christian LaBella for allegedly attacking actress Lindsay Lohan at her hotel Sunday morning, the charges have been dropped.
The Wall Street Journal reports that while the assault charge has been dismissed, LaBella, 25, still faces a misdemeanor harassment charge. Authorities also told the WSJ that LaBella had cross-filed the same charges against Lohan.
As Celebuzz confirmed earlier, Lohan was involved in a frightening incident with LaBella in New York City, which resulted in his arrest.
“Lindsay was assaulted early this morning in a New York hotel. While she did sustain some injuries, she was not hospitalized. The assailant was arrested and is currently in police custody. Lindsay has spoken with police and is fully cooperating with the investigation,” Lohan’s rep Steve Honig told us.
What other new developments have surfaced since the early morning incident?
While authorities have released little detail on the motivation behind LaBella’s early morning behavior, ABC News has learned that the Valley Village, Calif. native works part time as a Congressional aide.
The aide met Lohan at a nightclub in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan before the pair headed back to her hotel with a group of friends.
When the Mean Girls actress found out that LaBella had snapped several photos of her with his phone, things got physical.
Lohan told authorities that LaBella had choked her, threw her to the ground and climbed on top of her, before her friends pulled him away. The actress then pulled on the fire alarm for help, according to NBC New York.
