The lookalike friends have been spotted together in Milan clad in — what else? — Versace.
Under the Italian fashion designer’s influence, Gaga has tossed her characteristically wacky get-ups in favor of Versace’s sexy-glam gowns — including one of the house’s most famous dresses of all time.
Originally brought to the spotlight by Hugh Grant‘s then-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley, who wore the safety pin dress to the Four Weddings and a Funeral premiere in 1994, the iconic gown hasn’t been seen since … until yesterday that is, when Lady Gaga emerged in the risqué stunner.
Though she’d been sporting bleach blonde strands like her fashion designer twin, Donatella, Gaga went all out in her tribute to Hurley, sporting sleek brunette locks to boot.
With a plunging neckline and gaping side slits barely held together by over-sized safety pins, the revealing number leaves little to the imagination. But the pop sensation — who has been making headlines lately for her weight gain — looked amazing in the Gossip Girl star’s curve-hugging gown.
Take that, curve criticizers!
What do you think of the infamous safety pin dress — does it deserve to be revived, or should Lady Gaga have left it buried in the Versace archives? And who wore it better: Gaga or Hurley? Sound off in the comments.
