Olly Murs Dishes on One Direction: Who Does He Think Reminds Him of Himself? (EXCLUSIVE)
Olly Murs is already a hit in the UK -- and now -- the British singer is hoping to debut big in America with this forthcoming album, Right Place, Right Time. Thanks to his pals One Direction, the 28-year-old is off to a good start.
This past summer, Murs opened for One Direction on the North American leg of their Up All Night tour, and along the way, he got up-close-and-personal with the teen phenoms. The "Heart Skips a Beat" singer dished to Celebuzz about the busy lads after his live chat with New York's Z100 last week.
"Collectively, as the five of them, they are just brilliant," Murs said.
"What you see is what you get with them. They are all great guys, all best mates. They just get on all really well."
Now, we have the inside scoop on each member of the chart-topping boy band. Which boy bander did he say reminds him of himself? And which member lived up to his ladies man status?
"Niall reminds of what I was like when I was his age," said Murs. "He's really cheeky and a really fun lad." In fact, Horan even stood in for Murs during one of his sound-checks. However, Murs wasn't in on the joke.
"I was running late for a sound-check," he told Z100, "And I get there, and Niall is up there singing my songs with my band. He was doing my sound-check! He had gone through 'Heart Skips a Beat' and was just about to start 'Oh My Goodness.' I was like, 'Alright then, it looks like I'm not needed here.'"
As for the other members of One Direction, Murs revealed,"Harry, of course, is a womanizer, as everyone knows. But he's a really mature lad. He's funny and just a really nice guy."
"Louis had his girlfriend on tour with him for most of the time, so he was quite relaxed and chill," he continued. "He's the business-minded guy in the band. He's very much on it. Liam is very quiet, but I played FIFA against him when I came back from the tour, and he beat me quite a lot on it. And he's not as quiet when he's winning. He's very competitive! But he's a great singer, as well."
"Zayn is just cool as a cucumber," he said. "He just so relaxed and so chill. Nothing seems to faze him, really. He's just, like, 'Yeah, whatever, it's cool.'"
Murs' debut US album, Right Place, Right Time, drops December 4, featuring his upcoming single with Flo Rida, called Troublemaker. For more scoop on Murs' new album, check back later in the week for Celebuzz's full Q&A with the singer.
