Jennifer Lawrence Talks ‘Hunger Games:’ ‘I Was Really Upset the Day it Came Out’

'Catching Fire' Cast
Meet the cast of the 'Hunger Games' sequel.
Fame is the opposite of what Jennifer Lawrence sought after when she took on the epic role of Katniss Everdeen in acclaimed film Hunger Games.

The 22-year-old actress recently revealed to Vogue UK, “I was really upset the day that The Hunger Games came out. I was shaking all day wrapped in a blanket.”

What was Lawrence so worried about?

Ending up like pop icon Britney Spears.

The Hunger Games star recalled a friendly exchange in which she proclaimed, “‘Dude, have you seen what they’ve done to Britney Spears,” referring to all the media attention the X Factor host has received in the past.

With celebrity gossip and paparazzis buzzing around Hollywood, Lawrence has to be careful about how she handles herself.

As far as being a role model for younger girls and portraying a positive image in the media, “There’s a responsibility that I’m aware of,” she confessed to the mag,

Of course, this also includes an expectation to look a certain way.

“Oh God, yes, I’m so tired of the lollipops,” Lawrence vented. “I mean, if I looked like that I wouldn’t be tired of it, obviously. But it’s hilarious, the way I’m supposedly the overweight one?”

Unlike many Hollywood starlets, Lawrence isn’t a stick figure, and she’ll admit it. “I’m just a normal girl who likes to eat,” she told Vogue UK.
