Rihanna and Chris Brown's Relationship Timeline: 24 Key Moments in Their Romance (GALLERY)
More than three years since she was attacked by the hip-hop singer after Clive Davis' pre-Grammys party, Rihanna has rekindled her relationship with Brown after their very public fallout.
In February 2009, Rihanna cancelled her performance at the 51st Grammy Awards after she was physically beaten by her then-boyfriend during a heated argument. The "Umbrella" singer sustained multiple visible injuries and Brown was charged with felony assault, receiving five years probation and a restraining order to stay stay fifty yards away from his victim.
Since that fateful day, Rihanna and Brown have kept their distance -- only being seen together during the recent months.
So what led to this duo to rekindle their friendship?
Rihanna first made contact with Brown when she teamed up with him for two collaborations earlier this year.
In February, the 24-year-old crooner released a duet of "Birthday Cake" with Brown, 23, while he did the same with a remix of his single "Turn Up the Music." Though both tracks received negative responses because of the pair's history of domestic violence, Rihanna and Brown continued contact.
After Rihanna expressed her true feelings for her former beau on an Oprah Winfrey special, saying that he was her "first love," the duo were spotted getting close at New York City hotspot Griffin in October.
