Amanda Bynes Drama Continues: 'What I Like About You' Co-Star Jennie Garth Says She 'Tried Reaching Out'
"I tried reaching out to her, and I haven't been able to reach her," Garth, 40, told Us Weekly. "My heart feels for whatever she is going through, and I love her dearly."
Garth isn't the only one in Bynes' life to receive the silent treatment.
According to Us, the 26-year-old also isn't speaking to her agent, entertainment lawyer and publicist as she was dropped by her team after they have failed to get in touch with her over the past months.
Though Bynes was hit with a DUI charge and two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run, she insisted to Celebuzz that she's not heading into a downward spiral.
“It’s all lies,” she texted a Celebuzz reporter in September. “Don’t spread them.”acting suspiciously in a New York City bakery, locking herself in the bathroom for more than 30 minutes.
“[A firefighter] tried to get her to respond, through the door, for almost 15 minutes,” an eyewitness told us. “Finally, he called the police and asked if he had their okay to break down the door.”
But Bynes soon emerged, acting as though nothing was wrong.
“She just calmly said, 'Excuse me, I was doing my makeup,’” our source said.
As Celebuzz previously reported, Bynes’ worried uncle is blaming the actress’ decline on alcohol abuse.
“She needs to stop drinking and driving,” Ronald Bynes revealed. “She needs help.”
The embattled actress has been ordered to return to Los Angeles by L.A. Superior Court Judge Rebecca Omens within 48 hours of her next hearing, set for Oct. 19. As of late, Bynes has pleaded not guilty to her two hit-and-run charges.
