Putting to rest rumors of a split, the soulful singer celebrated his 35th birthday with rumored ladylove Katy Perry. Decked out in a bright-colored floral dress, Perry headed out for a night on the town with Mayer in New York City on Tuesday.
After lunching at the ever trendy ABC Kitchen in the afternoon, the on-again-off-again couple strolled side-by-side on the gritty streets of the Lower East Side before ducking into Freeman’s, a homespun American eatery tucked away in a discrete alleyway where the pair dined with about dozen family members and friends.
But the evening’s festivities didn’t end there.
After the low-key meal, the chart-topping singers headed to trendy downtown nightclub The Box.
While the musical pair remains mum about their relationship, they continue to spur speculation that they’re very much an item as they step out together from coast-to-coast. On Sunday, Perry and Mayer were spotted dining à deux at Pearl restaurant in NYC.
The duo first sparked romance rumors in June, when the Grammy winners were reportedly caught cozying up at the Soho House in West Hollywood — even though Perry was still in the midst of finalizing her divorce from husband Russel Brand. In August, Mayer and Perry were again snapped together, sneaking out of the Chateau Marmont in the same car. Later that month, though, reports surfaced that the two had split. But come early September, the talented couple popped up again, dining together at Little Door eatery in Los Angeles.
Since announcing her divorce from funnyman Russell Brand in December 2011, Perry has been bounced back with a number of rebound romances. After being linked to male model Baptiste Giabiconi, Perry showed serious affection for Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd during Coachella music festival earlier this year.
