Russell Crowe, Danielle Spencer Divorce: Damian Whitewood Denies Involvement in Split (VIDEO)

Damian Whitewood, the former partner of Danielle Spencer on Australia’s Dancing With the Stars, insists he had no involvement in Spencer’s divorce from Russell Crowe.

“[I]m definitely not the other man, as been painted out here with photographs and everything else,” he told Today Tonight in an exclusive video interview. “Absolutely not.”

Speculation that Whitewood and Spencer were more than just dancing partners started over the summer when they were photographed together on multiple occasions, oftentimes with their arms around each other.

“[We were consoling] each other — we do that on the show as well,” he said of the photos. “It’s a photo that says I had my arm around her, but I had my arm around her every day when I danced with her. I was probably in worse situations on the dance floor in front of millions of viewers.”

“We were just great friends, great partners on the dance floor — and that was it.”

Crowe and Spencer have yet to comment on the divorce, which was first reported on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Spencer’s father, Don, spoke to WHO on Tuesday, admitting he was “sad” about the whole situation.

“I love them both and am naturally sad as any father would be in this situation.”

Crowe and Spencer married in 2003. They have two children — Charles, 8, and Tennyson, 6.

According to multiple reports, Spencer is poised to collect at least $25 million from the impending settlement.

Spencer and Whitewood competed on the 12th season of Dancing With the Stars in 2012. They finished in second place.
