Drake Graduates from High School at 25: Celebs Who've Ditched the Books for Showbiz (GALLERY)

"ONE OF THE GREATEST FEELINGS."
Celebrity High School Dropouts

Drake has a new title to add to his already stellar resume: high school graduate.

The 25-year-old Canadian rapper, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, officially graduated from high school on Wednesday night.

“97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!” he wrote on Twitter.

“Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND.”

Drake, who has sold more than 5 million records worldwide over the course of just two studio albums, dropped out of high school in Toronto more than a decade ago when he landed his big break on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

He would go on to play Jimmy Brooks on the Canadian teen drama series for seven seasons (and a guest appearance on the eighth).

While Drizzy chose to complete his high school diploma, he’s not the first celebrity to ditch school for fame and fortune.

Which stars never graduated from high school, and who’s just going back now?

Drake’s high school achievement at 25 is early when compared to Mark Wahlberg. Earlier this summer, the 41-year-old announced on the Late Show With David Letterman his plans to finish his high school diploma through online courses based out of Massachusetts. He had dropped out in the ninth grade.

“They are going to give me whatever credits I have, which is probably like one or two . . . I’m gonna make it happen,” he said at the time.

Meanwhile, a slew of other celebrities have fared just fine without a high school education. Gisele Bundchen, Simon Cowell and Cameron Diaz have of course gone on to enjoy multi-million dollar careers in the modeling, music, TV and movie industries.
