Honey Boo Boo and Mama June Return the Favor, Recite Christopher Walken's Dialogue (VIDEO)
All's fair in love, war, and self-promotion.
Last week, ScreenJunkies.com got a viral hit out of its video of Christopher Walken and other Seven Psychopaths cast members promoting their new film by giving a dramatic reading of excerpts from TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Hearing Walken, Colin Farrell, and Sam Rockwell navigate their way through Thompson family word salad like "sketti" and "vajiggle jaggle" seemed to make the entire Internet giggle helplessly.
This week, with seven-year-old beauty pageant contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her mother June Shannon visiting Los Angeles for their own media tour, ScreenJunkies decided that turnabout was fair play and persuaded the duo to read classic lines of Walken dialogue.
How did that work out?
Not too bad, considering that neither Alana nor Mama June seemed at all familiar with such timeless Walken works as Balls of Fury, Catch Me If You Can, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, or the Saturday Night Live "More Cowbell" sketch. Mama June seemed especially perplexed by where exactly was the "uncomfortable place" where Walken's POW hid the family heirloom wristwatch. She also stumbled over some tricky dialogue, noting, "I'm not about big, fenagly words." (ScreenJunkies subtitled hat last remark, along with many others, in the same
patronizing helpful way that TLC does in order to make the Thompsons' unique dialect more hilarious accessible.)
Does "More cowbell!" slake your fever for Honey Boo Boo, or can you still not get enough of the TLC tyke? Does she have a future as an Oscar-winning thespian? Watch the video above and weigh in below in the comments.
