The journal adds that a special staircase was erected next to the church located in the center of the Borgo Egnazia resort plaza. The couple said "I do" in front of approximately 80 loved ones before sunset on Friday.
Guests enjoyed appetizers of Puglia’s local delicacies, including cheeses, fava beans, red wine, and a selection of artisan breads, before having a massive feast of the region’s freshest foods.
The happy couple released a statement after they officially tied the knot: “It’s great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends.”began earlier this week, with an evening bash at the beachfront resort on Riva Dei Ginepri. During the soiree, partygoers — which included guests like Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg and Biel’s former 7th Heaven co-star Beverly Mitchell — took in the majestic Southern Italy scenery, traditional Neapolitan music, and a dazzling 10-minute fireworks display. Guests snacked on Amare Lucano appetizers — the native food of the region — and sipped on Lucanian wine, an eyewitness told Celebuzz exclusively.
While the newspaper said that celebrity guests including Lady Gaga, Madonna and Elton John were rumored to be at the bash, Celebuzz spoke to Gaga’s rep who confirmed the pop star was not at the wedding. Reps for Madonna and Elton John did not returned requests for comment. However, they were both due to independently perform in the U.S. on the wedding night.
