With the holiday season some two months away, it’s not too soon to think about what presents to get for the little ones.

This year, children’s record label Golden Records recruited some of Hollywood’s biggest names, and their singing chops, for A Very Merry Golden Records Christmas, featuring the likes of Malin Akerman, Cheryl Hines, Busy Philipps and Dermot Mulroney.

The compilation, which was released on Oct. 16, includes some of the season’s most beloved songs, including “Jingle Bells” (Akerman) and “Winter Wonderland” (Mulroney).

Which other celebs are featured on the children’s holiday album?

In September, the record company released another celebrity-filled album for the kids, The Magic Continues -- Celebrity Series Vol. 1, featuring songs that included “Yankee Doodle,” “The Muffin Man” and “Pop Goes the Weasel” from celebs like Alicia Silverstone and Susan Sarandon.

Joining Akerman, Hines, Philipps and Mulroney on the Christmas edition are Ed Asner, Didi Conn, Missi Pyle and John O Hurley.

What mysogynistic agesim tripe spewed forth from the mouth of Piers Slackerman. And what outrageous insult and presumption that he seeks to suffocate the inalienable right to freedom of speech, thought and political activism of our tribal elders.Listen up people. This gives us all an insight into the sort of editorial, intellectual censorship and decision making process that goes on behind the scenes in journalism today and in the brains of some of our media heavies. This sexist yob is so yesterday. He suckles off the teat of a brand of conservatism that is malignant with malice and decay. He's boring and flaccid mouthed. Not boring wise. Boring boring. Barrie, can you dump him at least for next week, and invite Dame Elisabeth to be on your panel. I guarantee that your ratings will soar because of her pulling power, her presence, and the energy field created by this great humanist. She is provocative and challenging and we need to hear more from her. Not less. And we need to give older people greater access to our media. It is Piers whose brain has atrophied. Not Dame Elisabeth's. Barry, thank you for writing this article and not turning the other way.
