The CW's 'Arrow' Gets Full Season Pickup; Additional Episodes Ordered of 'Beauty and the Beast,' 'Emily Owens'
The CW’s Arrow has hit the mark.
The freshman drama series, based upon the DC comic book character Green Arrow, has been picked up for a full 22-episode season according to TVLine.
Arrow premiered to much fanfare on Oct. 10, garnering the network’s most watched episode in three years with 4.2 million viewers.
The show stars Stephen Amell as the titular character/billionaire playboy Oliver Queen who is out to bring justice to his city, Starling City, after returning from a five-year absence in which he was shipwrecked on an island and presumed dead by his family and friends. It also stars CW favorite, Katie Cassidy.
Arrow continued its stellar ratings into Week 2 holding onto 100 percent of its audience in The CW's youth-skewing demo of adults 18-34 and advertiser-coveted adults 18-49. It dipped only 15 percent from its premiere to 3.6 million viewers.
Meanwhile the network's other two freshman dramas, Beauty and the Beast and Emily Owens, M.D. have both received script orders for three more episodes each.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 PM. Beauty and the Beast airs Thursdays at 9 PM and Emily Owens, M.D. airs Tuesdays at 9 PM, all on The CW.
