It’s splitsville for Eva Longoria and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. The two had only been dating since September and were spotted together frequently over the summer.

"Mark adores and respects Eva," Sanchez's rep told Us Magazine. "It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends."

Longoria confirmed that the two were an item to Extra on Sept. 13 saying, “Mark and I are, you know, fine. We're happy just dating."

Sanchez has been mum on his relationship status thus far but one thing is for certain, he is a total mama’s boy.

"Family is big. My mom has to love her. I mean, love her. Somebody who can handle all this. . . because I'm still learning," he told GQ in September 2011.

Both have been linked to famous faces earlier this year: Longoria with Eduardo Cruz and Sanchez with Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton.
