'American Idol's' Mariah Carey and Daughter Monroe Sport Specs in New York City (PHOTOS)
Singer Mariah Carey hit the streets of TriBeCa with her chubby-cheeked baby girl during an afternoon in New York City on Monday. Clad in a head-to-toe black ensemble, sky-high stiletto boots and over-sized shades, FOX's American Idol judge flaunted her famous curves during her mother-daughter day out.
Monroe took a fashion-forward cue from her mother, pairing a fall-appropriate grey plaid skirt with a collared sweater. The toddler — whose twin brother, Moroccan, was no where in sight — topped off her look with light-pink glasses, a pink bow pinning back her brunette waves and her flopped-eared stuffed animal.
While Carey's husband Nick Cannon wasn't on hand for the outing, the father has gushed about Monroe's model-like ways. "Monroe already knows how to work the camera," he wrote on his Celebuzz blog, along with a snap of the tot's over-the-shoulder pose. "Truly blessed to be able to come home to this." Beside hitting the small screen on Idol in 2013, Carey has been laying down new music. "Living The-American-Dream pon de studio," she tweeted last Thursday, sharing a photo of her and producer Terius "The-Dream" Nash. The new album would be Carey's first since 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
