Marlon Wayans Spoofs Found-Footage Horror With ‘A Haunted House’ (VIDEO)

'Paranormal' Producer
Oren Peli talks about the series' latest installment.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into movie theaters to watch a paranormal encounter, Marlon Wayans spoofs the found-footage subgenre with A Haunted House.

Wayans, who helped shepherd Dance Flick and the first two Scary Movie films into theaters, stars in the upcoming comedy, about a couple who find themselves being terrorized by an unseen, ghostly presence.

Wayans co-stars with Essence Atkins, Nick Swardson, Cedric the Entertainer and David Koechner — and the first trailer for the film features a montage of images making fun of iconic scenes from horror movies such as Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside.

In addition to starring in the first two Scary Movie films, Wayans created characters that sustained the entire series, so his pedigree as a parodist is well-established.

A Haunted House arrives in theaters January 11, 2013. Meanwhile, watch Wayans talk about his role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
