Donald Trump's Obama 'Announcement': If He Releases His College and Passport Records, 'I Will Give to a Charity of His Choice' (VIDEO)
After much self-promoted ado, Donald Trump has finally made his long-awaited "very big announcement" about President Barack Obama.
In a video message, Trump offers to pony up a $5 million check to charity if the Commander-in-Chief releases his applications and records for both college and his passport.
"President Obama is the least transparent president in the history of this country," criticizes the reality TV host. "There's never been anything like it. We know very little about our president."
And that's what Trump claims he would like to change. "I'm very honored to have gotten him to release his long form birth certificate — or whatever it may be," he adds. "Now I have a deal for the president, a deal I don't believe he can refuse and I hope he doesn't."
Here's what the tycoon is putting on the table for the POTUS: "If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications, and if he gives his passport application and records, I will give to a charity of his choice — inner city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research — anything he wants, a check immediately, for $5 million," the billionaire business proposes. "The check will be given in one hour after he releases all of the records so stated."
"He will be doing a great service for the country if he does this," Trump adds. "If he released these records, it will end the questions — and indeed, the anger — of many Americans. They'll know something about their president. Their president will be become transparent, like other presidents."
Most specifically, Trump seems to be aiming to settle two long-running theories. Some conservatives believe Obama's college transcripts will reveal that the president was a poor-performing student who over-benefited from affirmative action. And the passport would provide an answer to speculation that Obama used a non-American passport in 1981 to travel to Pakistan.
"If he does that, to my satisfaction…this check is delivered immediately," Trump boasts. "A lot of people will be very, very happy to see this happen. Frankly, it's a check that I very much want to write.... Mr. President, not only will I be happy — and totally satisfied — but the American people will be happy. And ya know what, those charities will be very, very happy. Thank you, Mr. President."
The Apprentice star has previously suggested that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney demand the release of Obama's college and passport records in exchange for his tax returns.
