This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween …

Cue Jack Skellington from The Nightmare before Christmas, because Halloween programming has hit the small screen.

It’s that time of year where your favorite characters on TV don their best and scariest costumes. For example, ABC Family takes you back to your childhood with classic Halloween movies every night for “13 Nights of Halloween.”

Halloween programming started early this year as FOX ran the annual Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors two weeks early (due to baseball) and the Pretty Little Liars took us on a scary ride on ABC Family.

Perhaps, the most anticipated Halloween special this year is NBC’s Mockingbird Lane. The Bryan Fuller-produced Munsters reboot pilot, which cost a reported $10 million dollars wasn’t picked up for series, and is know being used as a Halloween special.

Of all the networks, NBC is probably getting into the spirit the most for the holiday with almost all of their comedies (sans 30 Rock) scaring up laughs and spooks this Thursday and next Tuesday.

But that’s not all we also have FOX’s Tuesday comedy block getting in the spirit with Halloween episodes of Raising Hope, Ben & Kate, New Girl, and The Mindy Project.

Meanwhile, ABC is bringing us the quintessential special, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, among other show’s Halloween-themed episodes, such as Modern Family and 666 Park Avenue.
