“We’re going to punch you in the face."

For Dave Bautista, phrases like that are commonplace -- at least when he's in the ring as an MMA fighter. But Bautista says that he was informed that the same thing would happen even when he was not fighting for real as Brass Body in The Man With The Iron Fists, Wu-Tang impresario RZA’s action-packed directorial debut.

“I showed up on set one day,” Bautista tells Celebuzz, “and the second unit director said ‘Look, we’re going to shoot [the punch] in slow-motion and it’s going to look incredible. And it did.”

The Shaw Brothers-inspired film features several complicated kung-fu fight scenes that Bautista and his co-star, Sucker Punch’s Jamie Chung, executed with complete faith in their director, despite his newcomer status.

“RZA had so many things in his head,” Chung explains. “When he asked me to do something [intense]… I said ‘you’re going to get what you want, because in the end, you’re going to use it the way that you want.’ It really was ‘I’ll do whatever you want me to do.’”

The Man With The Iron Fists arrives in theaters November 2. Watch the full interview with Bautista and Chung above, and check out Celebuzz' interview with RZA and his Iron Fists producer Eli Roth below.
